JONI TAMALONIS, Executive Director
During times like this it is difficult to take the steps one normally would for initial introductions, but I assure you; we are working hard to get a quality Virtual Program up and running soon and I look forward to meeting all of Saint Mary’s Family members via Zoom very soon. I am also very excited to begin working with all of the staff and students as soon as we possibly can. I have 29 years of professional experience in nonprofit settings, including most recently as the Executive Director of Choose Well Communities. I also have five years of experience working in the disability field at a Services for Independent Living (SIL) Center. My professional experience and expertise are in writing and research, strategic planning, budgeting, project management, staff development and training, and board development. I hope to bring my experience in non-profit management, particularly focused on outcomes and service impact in order to support and enhance the Mission and Vision of St. Mary’s Center. I feel that the Saint Mary's Mission aligns well with my own values including that of assisting and encouraging each person to reach their full potential and I am excited to be a part of the Saint Mary’s Center Family. I have completed a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Spalding University, a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities (BA) from the University of Washington and I am currently working on a Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) at the University of Kentucky. |
JOANNA KATSIKAS, Program Director
I am very excited about joining the Saint Mary’s Center family! I have dedicated my entire professional career to serving my community especially people with disabilities! It is extremely important to me that every person is able to reach their highest potential and I am very proud that I will be working to achieve my highest potential by helping Sister Regina and Mary Jo carry on the legacy that they have founded. My background: I have a B.S. in Special Education from University of Arkansas, an M.A. in Teacher Leadership from Spalding University with an endorsement as a Reading Specialist, and an endorsement in Gifted Education from University of Louisville. I am also skilled at American Sign Language, have been Cub Master (founder for Pack #332), and am a leader in the Scouting community. |
